Daddy Day Recap

* Written by Daddy, posted and edited by Mommy (we all know Daddy’s grammar stinks since he’s an engineer)*

Well, this weekend was great. It all started Thursday night. Yes we got an early jump on Father’s day. Dylan and mommy got me a new suit. But what they didn’t know was that Daddy already knew that he was getting a new suit for father’s day because he found it in the trunk of mommy’s car.

We went to dinner that night at a restaurant by Lake Hopatcong where Dylan fed the ducks and geese. I think he ate more bread than what he fed them.

Friday came and daddy went to work but came home early. Daddy and Dylan had an evening to themselves. It was the classic father/son evening. We had a big dinner, had fun playing in the tub and to cap it all off, daddy and Dylan watched ESPN Sports Center and the baseball game on TV until Dylan went to bed.

Saturday morning came. Dylan was so excited to give daddy his gift he woke up at 6am to surprise daddy with his father’s day gift. Dylan and mommy got daddy a new golf towel and coffee mug with Dylan’s pictures on it. After that, Daddy went to mow the lawn AGAIN. Because of the heavy rains that we’ve been getting, the lawn grows and requires cutting practically every week. We then went out shopping, but not really, we just wanted to use the mall for the free air conditioning. Daddy’s too cheap to pay for the electricity. Also, we had dinner at Cheesecake Factory to celebrate Father’s Day. We wanted to avoid the Father's day rush/madness so we decided to celebrate the night before. Cheesecake was the definite decision maker.

Sunday, and father’s day was here. It was great to celebrate father’s day being it my first one. I wouldn’t have traded this day for anything else (aside of course for our wedding day). It was perfect. We went to church and went to mom’s house for breakfast. We then went to Turtleback Zoo in Orange, NJ and spent a family day there. Dylan saw horses, and other zoo animals and when it came to riding the merry go round of endangered species, Dylan’s bravery became an endangered species also. He did not enjoy it one bit. He was crying and terrified of the merry go round. But all was good when he got his cherrios. Then later that night we had dinner at Tia Tessie’s house and called it a night.

It was a great day. Thanks Dylan and Mommy for my first Father’s day.

Love you two,

Daddy.

One bad thing about having a crawler - taking pictures is so much harder now.

Yay, for the zoo!

Check out the big horse.
