California/New Mexico Family Vacation

Tomorrow we leave early in the morning for Daddy's Christmas gift. We're going to visit Grandpa,Grandma, Ninong Jonas, and Nanay. We'll also see Tita Baby and Tito Horacio. It's Dylan's first visit to see where Daddy grew up. After San Francisco, we'll go to Albuquerque to spend time with Ninang Tessa and Ninong Mike.

We all can't wait for this much awaited vacation!

(pictures promised...)

President Obama

Better late than never....

Everyone has been saying that we'll always remember Pres. Obama's Inauguration. So we wanted to make sure Dylan will always remember, too.

In the morning, we went to Mindy and Gabriella's house for a playdate and stayed until after the inauguration speech. Dylan was too busy playing with Gabriella to really pay attention. When we got home, he went down for his nap. But when he woke up, we MADE him watch Obama's speech. Throughout the day, he was saying "hhmmm-BAMA".

Holy Word!

We sat down today and listed all the words Dylan can say. He's at about 60 or so words and each day he keeps adding onto his vocubalary.

So far, at 17 months, here's what he's got:

no, eyes, okay, mommy, head, up, daddy, nose, twinkle, buhbye, hi, shoes, ball, hot dog, socks, car, cookie, mickey, truck, juice, ouch, apple, doggie, ball, banana, eat, thank you, wawa, read, hi, spoon, book, hot, elmo, teddy, oh no, blue's clues, umbrella, cheese, ernie, horse, crackers, big bird, duck, light, bird, santa, more, baby, wash, wow, shoes, butt , good, hands, grapes, lolo, mike, ears, babe, milk, lola, hi five, wiggles.

Yet, he won't say "Dylan". Go figure!

Kindermusik

Today was Dylan's first day at music class. We're convinced that D is pretty musically inclined (or maybe this is just a stage he's going through). He loves to sing, dance to music while eating his lunch and dinner, or turns almost anything to a song (he walks around the house singing, "eat eat eat, I eat eat eat" or "read read read, I read read read).

So far, he likes the class and it seems like he'll get a lot out of it. For Mommy, it just guarantees that we get out of the house this winter at least once a week and have D play with other kids (besides our regular playdates).

New Year's Eve Celebration

We spent New Year's Eve at Tia Imel, Tio Conrad and Tita Princess' house. It was way past Dylan's bedtime, but we decided to go for it anyway. Dylan did great - he stayed up until after midnight. But as soon as we got into the car, he was asleep until 9AM the next day!

(we realized after Christmas that we never took a fam picture in front of the tree.)
