Preschools (with an Update)

Now that Mommy has been home for almost 3months and with the arrival of baby Logan, Dylan has become very clingy and too attached. Since he hasn't been around kids on a regular basis, he really doesn't know/like to play with others (unless it's Ate Cece). So while Mommy is home for maternity leave for another 5 weeks (boohoo), we are hoping to find a preschool for a 2.5 year old to get him ready for Pre-K3 in the fall.

There are so many different things to consider, lots of questions to ask, several interviews with teachers, and countless open houses. Our goal is to have him in school in the next couple of weeks as a trial basis.

Who knew the process can be so intense?! With the stress of it all, Mommy doesn't know if she'd rather be back at work at UMDNJ/CINJ with her patients or looking into preschools for her 2.5 year old!

Update:
On Friday Mommy checked out Elements of Learning which came highly recommended by friends. She liked the teacher and their curriculum but not too impressed with the facilities. However, we know several kids who go there and they just love being there. It was definitely a candidate and they can have Dylan start right away. We had decided that night that we'll send Dylan there on Tuesday.

On Saturday, we all went to St. Dunstan's open house for their preschool 3year old program for the coming fall. While talking with the teachers, we realized that they have a program for 2.5yo that will be starting Feb 5th. And lucky us, there's only ONE spot left. We jumped at it and registered Dylan right on the spot.

We knew right away he'll love it there when he didn't want to leave. We had to bribe him with food to get him out of the playroom.

SO, our little boy will be starting in two weeks - which only means Mommy has two weeks to emotionally prepare herself.

Logan at 2 months old

For the past 8 weeks, Logan has been sleeping in his swing during the day and at night. We actually ended up buying a second swing for the upstairs because we could not get him to sleep elsewhere. Two days ago, we tried transitioning him to the bassinet at night. So far, we've been pretty successful. Hopefully, he'll continue to sleep well for us in the bassinet.

Now during the day is a whole different story. He loves his swing so much and we're not ready to take it away from him just yet.

Stats at 2 months old: 11 lbs 8oz; 23 inches

(Interestingly enough, at this age, Dylan was the same exact weight, but 25.5 inches long.)

Logan Update

Since the day Logan was born, Grandma has been asking to babysit the boys. The day before New Year's Eve, we gave in. Daddy and Mommy went on a dinner/movie date and left the boys with Grandma. It was the first time Logan was introduced to a bottle and to our surprise, he took it with no problems at all. Probably because he knew he had no choice! This only means one thing... Mommy and Daddy will get to go out more often and Grandma will be enjoying lots of time with the boys.

At 8 weeks old, Logan is a lot of more active and awake during the day. Our hearts melt when he smiles and coos. Dylan thinks it's absolutely funny. We have officially nicknamed him BUTTERBALL which perfectly fits his chunkiness and sausage legs. WE LOVE IT!

sleeping angels?

These two boys look so innocent when they are asleep. Only if we can also capture the screaming, yelling and crying that goes on minutes before, mostly from our 2yr old Dylan. But once nap is over, we're all friends again!

Holiday visits

We finally got to hang out with Ninang Kim even for just a little bit. It's also the first time she met Baby Logan. Dylan was shy but very fascinated by Max, the bird. No surprise to us, he soon adjusted when he saw a plate of mangos.

(sorry for the super blurry cell phone pic)

We also spent some time with Ninong Mike and Ninang Tessa who were in town for the holidays. Dylan enjoyed his new toy from them. It's the new hit in the house, besides his cars and trucks of course! Even though he was asleep for most of the time, Logan enjoyed the attention he got from them. Too bad we forgot to take a pic =(

Welcome 2010!

We spent New Year's Eve with the Tan Family and the rest of the Valdez clan. Surprisingly, Dylan made it past midnight while Logan slept through the whole chaos.

2009 holds a special place in our hearts since we had so many unexpected and joyous blessings, especially our little butterball. Hope to be even more blessed in 2010... well, minus the baby part =)

We can't wait to see what the new year has in store for us. One thing is for sure... we'll be enjoying it with our two precious boys.

A White New Year's Eve

Completely unexpected.. we got a few inches of snow to start off New Year's Eve. And of course, Dylan just had to help Daddy.
