Dylan is fine when we leave him with lolo, lola, grandma, uncle tommy, ninong jeff, or who ever else. Everyone says he's such a good baby.. only cries when he's sleepy or hungry. We can go to a party, and hand him over to anyone. Come to think of it, we actually never get to hold him at parties because he'll go to just about any body. So, we're thinking that eliminates separation anxiety, right???
Another dilemma: When it's just Dylan and Daddy at home, they play and laugh the whole time. Absolutely no complaints from Daddy. But, as soon as Mommy walks in the door, the crying and whining start. He wants mommy to pick him up right away and only lets mommy hold him. Going to the bathroom or getting any work done mean sneaking around the house and hiding from Dylan. Has mommy spoiled Dylan?
Some people have said he's just "needy"? Perhaps, its because of the three teeth waiting to come out anytime now. Whatever it is, we hope it ends soon.

8 month old
So much has changed in one month. Dylan is just growing way too fast! Here are SOME of the things he's started doing within the last month alone:
- Babbles enthusiastically
- imitates sounds
- "Ahhhhh" (when he wants you to feed him faster)
- "UUPPPPP" (when he wants to be picked up)
- clapping
- shakes his head "no"
- self feed with finger foods (like his puffs and wheels)
- "blesses" lolo
- copies "beautiful eyes"
- looks for light when you say "where is the light?"
- "kuyakuy" (I think that's how you spell it. When Lolo says it, Dylan sways his legs)
- pulls up to standing
- stands leaning on objects like his table
- LOVES solid veggies, fruits, and bread
- "army crawls" or "wiggles" backwards
We're still waiting for him to start crawling although we don't mind him being not so mobile.
We do hope he starts to drop his middle of the night feeding. Some nights he sleeps for 10-12hours straight, but more of the time he wakes up after 5-6 hours to nurse.

Meeting the Easter Bunny
Even though today was cold and windy, we took Dylan to meet the Easter Bunny at Brookdale Park in Bloomfield. Grandma came along for Dylan's first Easter Egg Hunt. It was a nice family day.
"Grandma, don't look but I think there's a big bunny next to me."
Mommy and Dylan - almost the same height???
Go hunt for eggs!!!!
Where are Daddy and Dylan? (hint - look for Dylan's beanie)

As soon as he felt that hat on his head, he was bound to get it off.
ooppsss... where's Dylan?
Holding his hands down so he doesn't touch the hat.
Gave him the lens cover for distraction...

At-home Playdate
We had an eventful day at home today. I organized a group of mom's playgroup and we hosted our first play date for the moms at the Peaks. I made a cheese platter, fruit salad, and baked cookies. I even cleaned the house! =)
There were seven moms and 10 kids. The kids ranged from 6months old to 3 years old. It was fun to meet other moms and kids in the neighbor. Most of the kids were older and "mobile" which made me realize maybe I shouldn't have hosted it when Dylan is still this young. The house is definitely not-yet baby proofed. Kids were going up and down the stairs, opening cabinets, etc. I didn't mind it at all, but I felt bad for the moms who were constantly running after their little ones.
Oh well, I did inform them that Dylan was only 7months old... So next time... we'll absolutely baby proofed the house first. In any case, Dylan met new friends and he had a blast!
Sorry, no pictures this time. It was way too hectic to take pictures. I think I have two or three, but they didn't turn out that great (forgot to turn on the flash) so I won't even bother posting them.
Oh, and my homemade peanut butter cookies were a hit!!! (except for the kids with peanut allergies... oopss)
UPDATE: He was asleep minutes after everyone left. He was exhausted playing with his new friends.

YoBaby
He loves his yogurt! I couldn't feed him fast enough. He gets so excited when he sees his spoonful of yogurt.
Here's the new face of YoBaby...
