Birthday pictures
Dylan's 1st birthday party was a blast.... although he did nap for about 2 hours of it. Thank you everyone for the birthday wishes and generous gifts. He has enough toys and clothes to last him for the next year!!!

A year ago today
We were hoping Dylan would arrive on his due date. We were both trying EVERYTHING in the book to induce labor, but none were succesful. (spicy food, mexican food as per Alyssa, cheesecake factory as per Rachel, walk, walk, walk, up and down the stairs, raspberry leaf tea, more walking, swimming, and other things Dylan shouldn't know about)
Instead, Dylan decided to show up 6 days later. So now, less than one week before his first birthday, we are in full party planning mode!!! It's so bitter sweet...

Cancun July 2008
We're back and tanned!!! We had such a wonderful time. We're so glad we brought Dylan with us since he had a blast!
Day 1: Woke up early for our flight. As we got to the airport, we were told we had 4 MINUTES to get checked in. They rushed us to the front of the line and checked us in with only 2 MINUTES left!!! (Honestly, we didn't even realized we were late.)
Dylan did great during the flight. No crying, fussing, whining. He slept for 2.5 hrs of our 3.5 hr flight.
Rented a car from airport, saw a little of downtown Cancun (actually Daddy got lost), checked into the hotel, rested and dinner at Playa del Carmen. Nothing like authentic Mexican food. D got his first taste of guacamole. YUM!
Day 2: Mommy and Daddy's 5 yr wedding anniversary. Drove to Playa del Carmen and spent the day enjoying Mamita's beach. It's confirmed that Dylan loves to eat sand. (Well, at least it's something he isn't allergic to.) Afterwards, went back to hotel to rest and freshen up for dinner back at Playa.
Day 3: Family day. Mommy showed off her skills driving a stick shift before Daddy had to return the car. We spent the day in our palapa by the pool. Dylan couldn't get enough of splashing the water. He was all smiles and pooped out by the end of the day. He also discovered French Fries!
Day 4: Daddy's day. Daddy enjoyed his time at the golf course while Mommy and Dylan spent the day together at the palapa by the pool again. Dylan learned to blow bubbles in the water after Daddy showed him just the day before.
Day 5: Mommy's day. Mommy relaxed at the spa while Daddy and Dylan did some Father-son bonding. The thunder and lighting wasn't fun though, but we still stayed by the pool that afternoon.
Day 6: Family Day. More time at the pool and we even checked out the rocky beach by the resort.
Day 7: Another Family. Our plan was to rent a car and drive to Tulum to see some Mayan ruins and enjoy the beach. But since it was SUPER hot, we decided to just enjoy our last day at the resort. We didn't want Dylan exposed to that much sun without shade. It turned out to be a great idea since we spent the day at the Grand Mayan pool where they had a beach/sand area for Dylan enjoy. The Mexican Fiesta was great esp with their open bar.
Day 8: Home bound. Woke up early to pack and do some photoshoot around the resort before it was time to check out. We got to the airport 2 hrs early (we didnt want to be late again). Dylan did great, again. He slept for 2 hrs during the flight. He did get a littly cranky for the last 30 minutes because we were just sitting in the plane and he was getting hot.
Overall, we had the best time. Daddy (or Mr. San as he is known by staff) is going to miss waking up at 7am to reserve our palapa (#65) and going for morning walks with Dylan (while Mommy sleeps, of course). Mommy is already missing reading her romance novels and sipping on cocktails by the pool. Dylan had so many "firsts" during this trip. He expanded his food choices with things like French Fries, guacamole, churros, rice and beans, and tacos. He also started signing for "more" which we've been teaching him for weeks now. (We have a video of it too!) He is also talking up a storm. We have no idea what he's saying, but it's a lot of Bob, Papa, Mama, Dada, Tata, Kaka, and some other jumbled mumbling.

On Vacation
We're taking a family trip to Cancun, Mexico for our 5 year anniversary. It's Dylan's second airplane ride and we're not nervous at all since we did so great the first time (hope we didn't just jinx ourselves).
We'll be back with LOTS of pictures and videos... PROMISE! =)
HAPPY 5 YEAR ANNIVERSARY TO US!!!!!

What happens when Mommy is on the phone...
"This really needs to be re-organized..."
"Ok, I think this looks much better..."
[Yes, we know.. we really need to baby proof the cabinets. Well, actually, more like the whole house!]

Allergy Update
Yes, it was confirmed by our Allergist. We even have to carry around an epinephrine pen (syringe) for "just in case". Hopefully, nothing happens when it's just Mike around because he'll probably faint before he can give the shot to Dylan... AKA High Maintenance Baby (have we mentioned he has special [$$$] shampoo, soap, lotion and sun block as well).
On a serious note.. it's so heart breaking!!! Pray he outgrows it so he can have Mommy's yummy peanut butter cookies and share a tall glass of milk with Daddy afterwards.
