Day out at Central Park
A gorgeous day spent at Central Park where the kids enjoyed sliding and swinging at the playground, splashing at the waterpark, playing catch and eating an ice pop.
Dylan swinging like a monkey and adventurously sliding down. Logan waited at the bottom of the slide cracking up at his brother,
Logan soaking in as much sun as possible.
Dylan found the water fountains, took off his shirt and shoes and cooled off in the water. Mommy and Daddy didn't even know this area existed. Next, time we'll be prepared with swim suits and towels.
Logan was not in the mood to get in the water. Instead he sat on this pedestal looking super cute.
After hours of walking around, we parked ourselves on the grass where Daddy and Dylan played catch. So far, we've got no future pitcher for the Red Sox, but we're practicing.
Mommy doing what she does best =p
The best thing - Dylan sharing his ice pop with his brother. After 8 months, we think he's slowly getting the concept.
watching the performers. Dylan was mesmerized by their dancing skills.
a very random stop: Dylan got off his stroller as he screamed "Stop, I want to see the garbage truck" We stood and watched it until we could no longer tolerate the smell. Of course, he was kicking and screaming. How dare we walk away from the garbage truck!
After we soaked in all the fun Central Park has to offer, we took the subway to Chinatown for dinner... not because we wanted Chinese food, but because Dylan wanted to ride the train. And he was one happy boy!
Went to FAO Schwartz, but was two minutes late. They had closed the doors as we got there. Fortunately, Dylan didn't mind too much.
We're headed to Toys R Us in Times Square and he's even happier about that.
knocked out and holding onto his toy bought with his TRU money.
Even Logan was exhausted after a sunny, fun-filled family day in the city.

Just another one of their many first....
Today, the boys were in school for a full day for the first time. With Mommy going into the office on Fridays and new exciting things going on starting September, the boys will be spending more time with their teachers and friends at school. It was a difficult decision filled with lots of emotions, but we're sure to get through it and get used to our new schedules.
The kids were up and ready to go by 6:30am. Daddy dropped them off - no crying or whining. Ten hours later, Mommy picked them up and was greeted by smiles and hugs.
According to Ms. Parul, the boys did great. Logan was happy as can be. She even asked, "does he cry at all?" Um, yes he does. But apparently not when he's in school. So we're guessing that's a great sign. He drank his milk, played with the other kids, ate his breakfast and lunch, and napped as if he's at home.
Dylan had an equally great day too. Initially, we were worried Dylan wouldn't nap when the other kids did since he normally refuses to do so at home. At about 2:30pm, Mommy called Ms. Parul who unexpectedly said Dylan was napping. It took him 10 minutes to fall asleep and he's been down for more than 2 hours. Such a relief! His day consisted of lots of playing, reading books and doing an art project. He also told his teacher that he helps Mommy do her numbers... AKA we're teaching Dylan to recognize his numbers. On our ride home, Dylan couldn't stop talking about what he did the whole day. Sounded like he had a great day!

Afternoon learning session
When people ask what is the boys' last name, the reply we often get is "oh, good luck teaching them that". "San Buenaventura" gets mispronounced by so many - Dylan is no exception. Here is a video of him trying to say his full name. We were actually lucky we said it on cue. Most of the time, he says "I don't want to" or "it's too hard" or as in this video, he just acts silly.

Final birthday celebration
Dylan celebrated his 3rd birthday with the aunties and uncles with a bbq at the house. Even though it rained, Dylan enjoyed playing with all the valdez clan. Thanks to the Auntie Ely for making pancint and lumpia; Grandma and Uncle Tommy for the meatballs and sausages; Lolo and Lola Mia for cooking bowtie pasta with vodka sauce, salad and bbq. Yup, all Mommy and Daddy did was make sure the house was in order. So lucky to have wonderful grandparents!

Now that he's three, time to learn how to play mahjong ;-)
