Logan is THREE

To our dearest Logan,

You are now a big boy!

A day never goes by without you making us laugh.  You constantly remind us what a wonderful life we live and how blessed we are to be a part of your world.  You give the best hugs and kisses.  You are truly the funniest, sweetest, most personable little person we know!

In just the past short year, you have learned to identify all your letters, numbers, shapes and colors, use the potty, and spell and write your name.  You look forward to doing your homework every night.  Your favorite songs are "I'm sexy and I know it", "Your are my sunshine", and "Itsy Bitsy Spider".  You enjoy Preschool, but miss DD terribly everyday.  Most of all, you love sleepovers with DD on Fridays.

We look forward to teaching and showing you how to be a good big boy now that you are three.  We enjoy seeing the bond you have formed with your big brother.  You really are each others' best friend.  Not only do you look up to DD, but he also has learned to be more cheerful and carefree because of you.  We adore you for it!

For your birthday, we wish for you to continue to always love life and be filled with joy.  To continue to discover new things and flourish into an amazing four year old.

We love you ever and ever!  Happy Birthday, Logie, Log Log!

It's Pre-School Time!

Our little baby is so excited to go to Pre-school.  Before going to bed, he kept asking if he's going to pre-school and even slept with his new backpack (his first ever!).  This morning, he had his favorite things for breakfast: cereal and yogurt. We even practiced his ABCs, danced to the "Friends" song, and went over the rules for Preschool.  Just a great way to start a busy preschool day.

On the way to school, he kept his backpack on his lap and his lunch bag next to him.  We called Daddy on the phone and Logan was thrilled to tell him just where we were going that morning.  When we got to school, he did get shy and clinging to Mommy, but we know he's going to LOVE it there.

He looked such a big boy with his new backpack and super duper heavy lunch bag (he's an eater!).

Before leaving the house - lots of hugs and kisses
We're here!  It's Pre-School time!
Hope you have the best time in Pre-school, Logan!  We are missing you so much already.  But we know you are going to take over the world of preschool!  Go Logan, Go Logan, Go Logan!

Afterschool snack

As soon as Dylan got home from school, he asked for an afternoon snack (as we expected).  We waited for Logan to wake up from his nap and together they enjoyed a Klondike bar.

Cheers

Dylan's Home!

At 3:07 PM - our big boy is home!  When we asked if he had a good day, he said "No, I had a GREAT day"!  It doesn't really get much better than that.  He loves the teacher, the classroom, and the school bus.  From what we can tell, they read a book about frogs, sang songs, introduced himself to the other kids, played with building blocks, and ate snacks and lunch.

Getting off the school bus.  He looked nervous (he wasn't sure where to get off), but as soon as he saw Mom (with camera on hand), he was all smiles!

Dylan's first day of Kindergarten

It was a big day today in the SanB household.  The day Dylan has been waiting for is finally here.  It's time to go to Kindergarten which means he gets to ride the school bus... finally.  It doesn't get any better in the world of a five year old little boy.

The night before we prepped Dylan for his big day by showing him his new lunch box, talking about his new school, his new teacher, and school bus safety.  He went to bed a happy guy.

So many highlights, just so we would never forget:

-Daddy had to drag Mommy's butt out of bed at 6am
-Dylan jumped out of bed as soon as he woke up in the morning, got on his uniform and brushed his teeth (wonder how long this excitement will last??)
-A hearty breakfast cooked by Daddy:  eggs, taylor ham and cheese sandwich
-Walking to the bus stop (in the rain)- all four of us
-Logan giving his big brother a "brother hug" (see below)
-Taking lots of pictures to remember Dylan's big day
-Bus at the stop on time:  6:55am
-Daddy ALMOST missing Dylan getting on the bus (good thing he runs fast!)
-After dropping him off, driving to Reverend Brown to see him get off the bus and walk into the school
-Logan's non-stop "I miss DD"
-Mommy's tears

Silly faces before bedtime on the eve of Dylan's first day of Kindergarten
his snacks and lunch

having his breakfast for a full day of school
ready for his first day
getting a "brother hug"  - who thinks they'll miss each other?!?

walking to the bus stop with daddy
patiently waiting for the school bus
right on time and he's ready to go
our big boy officially off to Kindergarten

A very sad Logan saying bye to Dylan

Took this picture to make sure we always know which bus he's on - Jefferson Frogs BUS # 549

Have a GREAT first day at Kindergarten, Dylan!  We miss you already and can't wait to hear about your new adventure when you get home this afternoon.

P.S.  Yes, today, Mommy was the kind of Mom we have disliked for many years - the kind that held traffic and took her sweet time getting her baby in the school bus.

Oh, Baby?!

We are not quite sure how it all started, but for some reason or another, Dylan has been asking for Mommy to have another baby.  In particular, two babies... two girl babies.  Oy!  Logan, on the other, is fine with just the way things are.  He definitely has no babies in mind.

Not only has Dylan been asking to have another sibling or siblings, but he's very curious about how a baby ends up in Mommy's tummy.  Not ready for any birds and bees talk, he let him answer his own question.  In Dylan's world, Mommy eats a lot of food, the food turns into a baby, Mommy's belly pops and out comes a baby.  Wish it was that easy, right?
